About the Role

A leading precision?medicine oncology organization is seeking a highly motivated Biotransformation Scientist to support drug discovery and development programs. This role sits within the DMPK?Clinical Pharmacology function and focuses on metabolite identification, structural elucidation, and biotransformation pathway analysis. The position is hands?on, fast?paced, and highly collaborative, working closely with DMPK, chemistry, toxicology, clinical, and regulatory teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, execute, interpret, and report in vitro and in vivo studies to identify metabolite structures and biotransformation pathways.

  • Perform metabolite searches in complex matrices and assign fragment structures using product?ion mass spectra.

  • Operate enzymatic incubation systems and LC?MS/MS instrumentation routinely.

  • Communicate findings to medicinal chemists, project teams, and leadership.

  • Represent DMPK on cross?functional teams and address key development questions (e.g., bioactivation, safety coverage, DDI).

  • Contribute to a collaborative, positive, and innovation?driven lab environment.

What You Bring

  • PhD with 2+ years, MS with 8+ years, or BS with 10+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Background in medicinal chemistry, natural product chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, or related fields.

  • Demonstrated expertise in:

    • Mass spectrometric fragmentation

    • Liquid chromatography

    • Chemical structure elucidation

    • Biotransformation workflows

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and within cross?functional teams.

  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a mindset geared toward continuous improvement.

  • Experience with Orbitrap mass spectrometers and software such as Compound Discoverer or Mass?MetaSite is highly preferred.
